GAS CONFERENCE

Accelerating Towards A Gas Powered Decarbonization

With over 203 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves, Nigeria remains a gas country with pockets of crude oil. The current move by President Bola Tinubu to cushion the removal of petroleum subsidies has informed the need for alternative primary energy source which can be readily found in Nigeria’s abundant natural gas resources. With the recently launched Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG), Nigeria is working towards reducing its dependence on fossil fuel, thereby enhancing our energy independence, and contributing to a more secure energy future.

The energy cross River Gas Conference will deep-dive into ongoing developments in the natural gas space in Nigeria, highlighting the low-hanging fruits, quick-wins, backbone infrastructural developments, as well as the policy structure to foster gas business development in Cross River State and Nigeria in general.
